Grainger County Virtual Academy (GCVA) is a tuition free option for all Grainger County students in grades 7-12 that want the flexibility and freedom that home school offers but provides a more sound, stable, vetted curriculum. GCVA is a TN registered school that offers local teacher support, state approved curriculum, and the assurance that all students are on the correct path to college and career readiness.
How it Works:
- Weekly Deadlines: Assignments will post to Google Classroom on Saturday morning with a Friday Midnight deadline. This gives students seven days to complete and submit five days of assignments.
- Work at your own schedule: As long as you don't miss the Friday deadline, all is good. Complete the assignments in any order you want.
- Two Part Attendance Tracking: 1. Complete the attendance question posted daily. 2. Complete and submit assignments by Friday's deadline.
- Local Teachers: Grainger County certified teachers are assigned to all classes. Local support is available when needed.
- Graduation Requirements: GCVA requires the state minimum of 22 credits to earn a school diploma.
- Schedules: 7-8 will be on a year-long schedule--the same as RMS and WMS. 9-12; block schedule--same as GHS and WHS.
